Well, it has been getting too hot around here so we set up our pool last week. The kids love it and have been in it everyday since we put it up. Colvert has really impressed us. For the first two days we struggled with getting Colvert to remember how to swim. No he is all over in the water. Diving for things at the bottom of the pool, doing twist jumps and flips off the ladder into the water and yesterday he even did a backward flip all the way around in the water WITHOUT plugging his nose. Not plugging my nose is hard for me. We are so proud of him. He also opens his eyes under the water. He starts swimming lessons on the 3rd and he is so excited.
Our yard is not level so part of the pool is deeper than the other so Rianne can touch without a problem on one end and on the other the water is all the way up to her chin. However, we have a really hard time getting her to stay in her floatie. She wants to be like Colvert and walk and splash around but we still cannot get her to put her face under the water. Yesterday, she slipped off the ladder and fell all the way under but she held her breath the whole time. I told her how good she did and how proud I was that she held her breath under the water but she didn't care. She was still upset.
